THE BRIDGE

The Bridge at the Michael Laskin Studio is a class that has been created specifically for young artists coming out of actor-training programs who are seeking actionable career guidance, an expanded post-college community of artists, and real-world connectivity to the pursuit of their career goals and dreams. It seeks to “bridge” the gap between training, and a professional career.

In short, it’s for those who are discovering the challenge of integrating into the film and television industry. It asks the questions:

  • What’s next?
  • What do I do first?
  • How do I keep my sanity in the midst of all this?!
  • How do I secure representation?
  • And VERY importantly, how do I hold onto my artistry while trying to navigate all this?

The Bridge is a combination of practical career strategies, camera work, coupled with ongoing artistic efforts (i.e. scene study) to help you remember what sparked your creativity in the first place!

Kelsey Landon is a graduate of the BFA training program at The University of Minnesota, and worked in the company at The Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis. She then spent 8 years in New York working on Broadway, Lincoln Center, Pearl Theater and multiple regional theaters across the US as well as two National Tours. Kelsey has a teaching emphasis in Shakespeare, and most recently she directed a unique and highly regarded gender-swapped “Hamlet” starring Brooke Markham (series regular on IN THE DARK, and a long-standing Michael Laskin Studio member). Kelsey is a true creative hyphenate: actor, director, and producer.  She also just directed a “proof of concept” project for an upcoming TV series, which features members of The Michael Laskin Studio in key creative roles.
